For Magellan and Garmin GPSes, tracks can be
automatically downloaded by the track 'n share client. To
do this, do the following steps: Before we start Some GPSes require drivers. This is especially true
for GPSes with USB connections. Please make sure that your GPS is recognized by
Windows and that the drivers are installed. For more instructions, read Installing
the GPS. It is also important that you have configured the
track 'n share client to communicate with your GPS. This is
done in the settings screen. Please refer to Entering the settings for
more information. Open the "From GPS"
screen The "From GPS" screen is opened by pressing the
button "From GPS" in the wizard. If the button is greyed out, press the "Reset
Wizard" button first. This button closes all open screens and returns the wizard
to step 1. When you open the screen, you will see two buttons, start and cancel.
Turn on the GPS and press the start button. The client will now start to
download the tracks from the GPS. This can take a few minutes, especially if you
have large tracks. After all tracks are received, the screen will automitcally
close and the track editor screen is opened.
No communication? Sometimes, GPS communication is not properly
established. This can happen if the GPS is not properly installed (see Installing
the GPS) or the GPS is not found (did you turn it on?) or the settings in
track 'n share are wrong. When you first encounter this
problem, it might help to wait a few seconds and try again. If ht problem
persists and you need additional help, please post a message on the support
forum.
