track 'n share help

- Entering the settings

When track 'n share is first started, the settings screen is shown. Here you will find all user preferences. You can always go back to the settings menu by pressing the "Change your preferences" tab at the top of the screen and then pressing the "Settings" icon.

Temperature information
Here you can set whether you register temperatures in Celcius or Fahrenheit.

Distance information
You can choose the units of measure for distance .

GPS Information
Here you can set your GPS brand and protocol. track 'n share will use these values to read the track information directly from your GPS (if you have a Garmin or Magellan GPS). You also have the option to enter tracks via files.

Look on your GPS to see if you have a Magellan or Garmin GPS and set the GPS brand to either Magellan or Garmin. This tells track 'n share which language to speak. Next you will have to specify which port to use. This can be either a com port or an USB port (see Installing the GPS if you are unsure which port is used). In case of a Magellan GPS, you also have the option to specify the baudrate. This is the speed at which the GPS and the client communicate. A higher setting means the communication will be faster, but always ensure that the setting of the client and the GPS are identical. Otherwise, communication is not possible. For Garmin GPSes, you do cannot specify the bandwidth, hence the option is greyed out.

Background color
You have the option to change the background color of the main screen.

Photo display size
You can select how large your photos will be displayed in the Display Track screen. If you choose "Large" the width of the photos (and videos) is 640 pixels. Medium is 480 pixels and small is 320 pixels. Photos are automatically resized to match these dimensions. Since videos cannot be scaled, a popup will show if the video is larger than the display dimensions. You can click on a link to open the video in an external player. This way, you are always able to view your photos and videos.

Weather information
You can enter weather information in track 'n share. This option is very flexible, allowing you the set the number of rows you would like to have. For instance, if you require only one row, choose the first option. If you like to enter weather information for morning, afternoon and evening, choose the 3rd option. You can even set a custom number of rows, for instance every hour! This can be done by selecting custom. You can enter a description and press "Add" to add a new row. You can use the up/down and delete buttons to change the order or delete a row.

Wind information
Check this box if you want to register wind information.
