track 'n share is an online
application. It is designed to connect to the internet automatically. The
following information is exchanged: At Startup When determining country
flags When reporting an error When you choose to post a message on the forum
(link), a webbrowser is openend. No personal information is
transmitted. When showing tracks When uploading trips When pressing the track-n-share.com
tab When pressing the create user link (for
track-n-share and YouTube) on the Settings menu When clicking on the links in the news
screen
When the track
'n share client is started, it connects the the track 'n share server
to:
When you automatically check in which country an adventures
was recorded, track 'n share will test a limited number of
points along the track against a webservice. Only a location (Latitude,
Longitude) is sent. The return value is a ISO code of a country (e.g. AU for
Australia).
Should an
error occur, you will be presented with an option to send the error to the
track 'n share server. This allows the crew to analyze the
error and to see whether a program update is necessary to alleviate the error.
The error reporting is anonymous hence there will not be any
feedback. Check the forum on the website if you require assistance.
The
track 'n share client uses Google maps technology to display
your track on satellite images. This option only works if you have a connection
to the internet.
When you
upload a trip, your username and password are submitted. The trip information
that will be uploaded is all shown on the "Upload Trip" screen. Personal
texts and photos marked as private are never uploaded and will always reside on
your computer.
When you press the track-n-share.com tab, www.track-n-share.com is automatically
opened within the application.
When you press the create user link, www.track-n-share.com is automatically
opened in your favorite webbrowser.
When you click on the links on the news screen, a webbrowser
is opened and a track-n-share.com page is loaded. No personal information is
transmitted
