About track 'n share your GPS adventures
Memories fade over time

track-n-share is the next logical step in keeping your memories alive. With the advent of digital photography, many of us have heaps of photos stored on the computer. With such large amounts of photos, it is often hard to remember where a photo was taken. Memories of a trip fade over time and the photos become the anchors to retain our memories.

The promise of GPS: Adding location to photos

But technology has advanced and global positioning technology (GPS) promises a much better way of tracking our adventures and retaining the memories. With a GPS, you can automatically record everywhere you go with high precision. Essentially, a GPS stores time and position in memory, forming a track of where you have been. Did you know that, when you take a photo with a digital camera, the time is automatically stored in the picture? Since we have the time the photo was taken and the position where you where at that time, we can use the position information to automatically pin a photo on the Google maps at the exact location the photo was taken. This is also known as geotagging.

So what is track-n-share exactly?

track-n-share is innovative software that allows you to document your adventures around a GPS track! This will keep your memories alive and allows you to show your friends and family the exact route you have taken with pictures on a map anywhere in the world.

Track-n-share consists of a website and a client application. The website is used to share your uploaded adventures with the community. You can use the client application to document your adventures in 3 steps.

First, the track data is imported from the GPS. You can now see exactly where you have been on a satellite image! Next, you can add photos. The photos are positioned automatically along the track. The timestamp of the digital photo will be matched with the time on the GPS track in order to pinpoint the location of the picture taken relative to the GPS coordinates. The last step is to upload the adventure to the track-n-share website. For a full list of features, click here.
