With a GPS, you can automatically record everywhere you go with high precision. Essentially, a GPS stores time and position in memory, forming a track of where you have been. Did you know that, when you take a photo with a digital camera, the time is automatically stored in the picture? Since we have the time the photo was taken and the position where you where at that time, we can use the position information to automatically pin a photo on the Google maps at the exact location the photo was taken. This is also known as geotagging.
